RL specializes in supply management for major projects. Our company offers integrated supply solutions for our customers, who are mainly world-renowned companies in the mining and industrial sectors. We’re looking for two dynamic, proactive people to join our great RL team.

Description of the Procurement packages Coordinator role

The Coordinator works closely with members of his team, as well as with members of other departments. The incumbent exedites and facilitates the flow of materials and equipment purchased for the project. The Purchasing Packages Coordinator works with suppliers to ensure that order milestones are met, and plays an important role in managing supplier documentation and delivery schedules. The Coordinator ensures that goals and objectives are met, with respect to RL’s corporate culture, as well as the health and safety and environmental code of conduct.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Main tasks – Coordination:

  • Organize start-up meetings with suppliers;
  • Main contact between suppliers and project teams after purchase orders have been issued;
  • Manage payment milestones for purchase orders;
  • Expedites supplier and engineering deliverables;
  • Work closely with engineering, logistics, planning and construction to understand project issues;
  • Report expediting activities to project management via Progress Reports;
  • Organize weekly follow-up meetings;
  • Inform projects of potential problems with suppliers, evaluate and recommend corrective action plans and obtain recovery plans from suppliers;
  • Close coordination between suppliers and the Supplier Quality Control Manager;
  • Manage expediting assignments from external firms and maintain historical data ;
  • Review external firms’ expediting reports ;
  • Receive and review supplier invoices in relation to purchase order payment milestones;
  • Issue shipping releases to logistics ;
  • Close purchase orders ;

 

Secondary tasks – Material management

  • Update the project material management tool with accurate expediting information;
  • Ensure that the required documents are completed accurately;
  • Review goods packaging and marking to ensure compliance with project requirements;
  • Contribute to the timely receipt of materials at construction sites;
  • Act as the main contact for important questions from the material receiving teams;
  • Administer Over, Short and Damaged (OS&D) reports issued by material receiving teams;

REQUIRED EXPERTISE

  • Education and degree in engineering, administration or equivalent;
  • 5 years experience in logistics surrounding project execution.
  • Experience in an industrial or heavy industry environment (mining experience an asset);
  • Bilingual French/English ;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Excellent working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
